Abstract

In this paper we present a brief reflection of the production and trade of two ceramic types in the capital of Lusitania, Augusta Emerita. The “irisada” pottery from Mérida and the bracarense ceramics present, more or less, similar external characteristics but its origin is clearly different. Maybe, this similarity could have generated a confusion in the studies of the pottery trade in Mérida.
