THE BISHOP’S ELECTIONS IN THE BISHOPRIC OF CORIA BETWEEN 1320 AND 1420. VARIATIONS IN BISHOP’S APPOINTMENTS DURING THE AVIGNON PAPACY AND THE WESTERN SCHISM

The Bishopric of Coria, as same as others in Castile, has got distortions in bishops lists between XIV and XV centuries, due to king’s, pope’s and canonry’s intercessions in bishop’s elections, in a conflictive period of time in the history of the Church, characterized by the move to Avignon and The Western Schism. This works pretends to lighten, as far as possible, the historical situation focusing on historiography and documentary sources, telling the bishop’s origin, who is appointing them, provided that information let us know it.
