Abstract

The following work examines the flow of minor migrants that is perceived as it passes through the Province of Cadiz and specifically in the Strait of Gibraltar. It is intended to disclose the objective data that are known of a little studied phenomenon and that can help in the training of the professionals that attend them as well as to take preventive measures. It also addresses the difficulties of quality care to this group by the child protection system.

Author Biography

  • José Carlos Cabrera Medina, University of Granada

    Childhood and emigration policy consultant. Degree in Arab and Islamic Studies, does the Diploma of Advanced Studies on Emigration and Moroccan Arabic language at the University of Jaen. In 2012, he obtained a Master's Degree in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the Pontifical University of Salamanca. He worked as head of communication and political advocacy for the Spanish Commission for Refugee Aid (CEAR) in Andalusia. Previously, he worked as an Intercultural Mediator for the Government of the Andalusian Government since 1999, and has been a researcher at the University of Granada since 2014. He is Director of the radio program Ruta Mediterránea on Canal Sur Radio de Andalucía. He is also a professor of Moroccan Arabic at the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation.
