Abstract

As a tribute to Fernando Serrano Mangas we publish a letter from Father Manuel de Solorzano (1649-1684), which recounts the Ocean crossing from Cadiz to Veracruz and from this city to Mexico in 1675. The letter is included in a recently localized collection of letters, containing about a hundred letters and other documents ranging from 1663 to 1684, the year the latter Fr. Solorzano was killed in the Chamorro revolutions against the Spanish occupation.
