Abstract

With a global approach to social and economic, religious and mental history, we analyzethe formation of a parish-villa along the High Middle Ages connected to the Camino de Santiago (Via de la Plata). Local history form that combines micro and macro, providing information for the general knowledge of monasticism of the first centuries, the formation of feudalism and the European and peninsular urban renaissance in the twelfth century.

    Carlos Barros Guimeráns (Vigo, 1946) is a Spanish engineer and historian. Doctor in History (specializing in Medieval History) from the University of Santiago de Compostela. He is currently the founding director of History in Debate.
