Abstract

This text aims to analyze the main episode of social promotion and advancement of family Macanaz. A process that highlights its initial phase, located at the local level throughout the second half of the seventeenth century. Consolidated as local elite family, the Macanaz start the upstroke to other areas of power, as the government and administration of the monarchy. Also, we will evaluate critically the state of historiography on social promotion processes linked to the exercice of power and political practice in communities local.
