NOTES ON THE CONDEMNATION OF LUXURY BY THE CHURCH. EXAMPLES OF NEWSPAPERS FROM THE CITY OF MURCIA (XVIII-XX CENTURIES)

Abstract

The following article analyzes the discourse of the Catholic Church regarding the condemnation of luxury and fashion, paying particular attention to the role of women and the Church's attempt to gain control of it thruogh his speech. To do this, use some newspapers of the city of Murcia during the late eighteenth and early twentieth century, trying to analyze the persitence of speech.
